I fell in love with storytelling on my Daddy’s knee as a young girl. Soon the love and wonder of God’s redemptive story became the focus of my writing.
After working for an all-female Fortune 500 company in technical and copywriting, I graduated with honors in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.
I have written for ministries, schools and for businesses. My desire to serve found a home as an art teacher, an art journalist, and in creating church and school curriculums.
My husband of forty-seven years and I are blessed with three grown children, a beautiful granddaughter and a grandson on the way.
Today when I’m not writing, you can find me listening to the hopes and dreams of young women, traveling with my humorous and adventurous husband, or hiking the foothills of Northern California.
How does God work the struggles and the trouble we experience for our good? He uses them to create resiliency by showing us that we are more courageous, stronger, and more enduring than we could have imagined. He offers us opportunities in our difficulties to stretch our faith, define our determination, and risk failure. Despite our weaknesses, our frailties, or our second guessing, God can build strength in your struggles, if you hold on to Him through them. Choosing to follow Him in this crisis-fatigued world means holding on to Him on the road less traveled. It means electing to do the difficult, believing Him for the impossible, and risking your plans for success for His plan for your good. If you are in the middle of a challenging relationship, battered by difficulties you did not see coming, or just wondering how you will make it through a complicated mess, “The Promise of Resilience, How God Builds Strength Through the Struggles” offers you hope and practical, actionable steps to move forward. Read about the encouraging paths that others have journeyed during their own crisis of faith. You may come to find out He has been building resilience in you all along.
